Atypical & Awesome “Birthdays, Festivals, Music, and Family”
It’s been a busy but fun weekend and it’s only Sunday morning. Friday night, Phillip and I went to Bugsy’s to celebrate Alice Nelson’s 19th bday. It was Alice Nelson Band’s first full performance ar Bugsby’s. Alice had been in a pretty bad car accident the day before but she was determined to make the show happen. Kudos to her for fighting like a champ to put on the show despite being in incredible pain. We were able to hear the band do “Girlfriend” and a few other songs before heading back home to get some much needed rest as Phillip and I both had incredibly tiring weeks.
Autumn and I had a great time shopping and getting coffee yesterday, I’m loving having her home. Then, we ventured out to the Peanut Festival in Dothan and boy, was it packed. Towards the end of the evening we ran into Alice and her parents and happened onto Darrell Qualls performing! That was a great, unexpected treat and I enjoyed sitting down, enjoying cobbler in a cone, and listening to music versus standing in line somewhere lol
Alabama lost in a heartbreaking way again and I hate it for all those die-hard Alabama fans like my husband. But, the sun did rise again and we got an extra hour of sleep last night, so there’s that.
We have another family-filled day today. Hope you all are having a lovely weekend!
