Atypical & Awesome “Overwhelmed and Validated”
After a pretty “rough” weekend, Monday and Tuesday made up for it. I ventured out to Bugsy’s on Monday night for their Writer’s Night Open Mic. I enjoyed hearing local musicians perform and Alice Nelson did a couple of our cowrites- “Girlfriend” and “Vintage Love”. The highlight of the evening was talking shop with other writers- many of who I have tremendous respect. Cowrites were discussed and I have lots to book in the coming weeks.
Last night, I travelled over to Dothan for “Play the Cafe” at Mural City Coffee Company in Dothan. I enjoyed hearing Dustin Herring and Adam Jones play some great originals. I made some new friends and have more things brewing in the coming weeks. Do yourself a favor and check out Dustin Herring’s song, “Roll Tide”- seriously. I have a feeling the world will know that one soon.
This business can be cruel. But it can be so damn rewarding when things go well. I needed these past two days. Stay tuned!
