Atypical & Awesome “Fun Stuff”
It’s been a fun week with all sorts of adventures. Phillip and I played pool for a few hours last weekend. We were surrounded by young adults, a toddler, and a guinea pig with Marilyn Manson posters on the wall and Travis Tritt on the radio. We had fun and I pretty much lost every game. Oh well, I’ll get him next time. Oh, and when we got home there was an armadillo in the yard! Then, the next day the biggest wild turkey- I guess he was wild- he ran from me- lol But he was huge- it is wild kingdom around here! I
I took off a little early from work Thursday, picked up half-off milkshakes from Sonic and we celebrated Saffy’s 5th bday. She got a tunnel for her birthday and loves it. I then drove over to Keel Distillery in Headland and went to a “paint and sip” event where I painted a popsicle door hanger- it’s really cute! I drove home in the worst lightning storm ever, though- whew! I HATE lightning so that was tough for me.
Phillip and I went to the “free” night of the Slocomb Tomato Festival to support my friends in the Josh Buckley Band last night. We picked up dome Slocomb tomatoes and I plan to make my dad a tomato pie for Father’s Day :) i would love to go back to the Tomato Festival today but the heat is oppressive and after having an “incident” at a similar event to see JoDee Messina a few years ago- I learned my lesson.
We do have more fun adventures today, though. I’m leading a discussion group on 80’s music at the public library in Dothan- how fun is that? Alex and I are going to a local jazz concert tonight. So, as always immersing myself in “life” because it is so incredibly short. I’m trying to savor every bit. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
