Blue Plate Blog 30 Days of Peace- Day 22 Aromatherapy

Peppermint oil is the nectar of the gods. Okay, maybe not but it has definitely been a part of my “arsenal” for many years. Now, I am not going to try sell you anything or dismiss the crucial role of medication but oils can be a great enhancement to your life. I keep a chain around my neck daily (given to me by my precious bonus daughter) that is a locket. In the locket is a small pad I saturate with different oils. If I start feeling stress, I can close my eyes and slowly inhale the oils and almost immediately start calming. Now, oils might not be your thing and that is okay. A candle, fresh cut flowers, coffee, herbs such as rosemary or even oregano can be soothing. Sensory experiences are directly tied to our mental health and overall sense of peace. Today, stop and smell the roses. Have a peaceful day.
