Atypical & Awesome “Holding Onto Christmas”

Our tree is still up. In fact, Sapphire and I are still enjoying it so I will keep it up to this weekend. Actually, my birthday, is Jan. 11 so why not just make a new tradition of extending our holiday season until then? Life is so short, and if a Christmas tree brings you joy, keep it up as long as you want.

It is also freezing which adds to the lingering feeling of Christmas. How “cool” (ha!) would it be to get birthday snow this weekend? I’ll take it! We never get snow in south Alabama so that would make my 51-derful birthday simply….wonderful.

There’s corn chowder in the crock pot and corn muffins will join the party later. It’s a cold, dreary very “January” morning and the kids go back to school today. It is a weird “season” for me in many ways- my birthday week always makes my mind reel. But, life goes on and for us Christmas will hang just a bit. What’s the rush? Why not let the good things linger? Just like my trusty crock pot- some of the best parts of life are slow cooked on low.
