Atypical & Awesome “What A Day!”
Yesterday was one for the memory books. I woke up around 7 am and decided to enter the Enterprise Farmer’s Market’s Deviled Egg Contest. Registration started at 9 am. I needed 9 eggs, I had 10. Somehow another, I was able to pull it together in time. I didn’t have a recipe just threw in a few things I thought would add some pizzazz. Despite the threat of serious rain, we made it to the event on time and dropped off my entry.
Phillip and I hung out at the Farmer’s Market and watched the Easter Hat parade and got our picture made with the Easter bunny. We enjoyed coffee from Bean Bros and a cream cheese pastry from one of my favorite vendors who sells sourdough bread. Despite the weather, the farmer’s market was lively.
Finally, it was the time for the winners to be announced for the deviled egg contest. I thought I might have a chance in the traditional category. Your girl won “Best Overall” and “People’s Choice”. I literally could not believe it. I won $50, a free meal from Cutts (!), and a swag bag bookpack stuffed with adorable Farmer’s Market items. I could not have been more shocked. We have laughed so hard I am so grateful.
We ended up kid-free last night and Phillip treated me to seafood at McLins and putt-putt at Enterprise Mini-Golf. What a fun day! I have grad school work to do today but I’m still smiling!
