Atypical & Awesome “Wonky Weekend With Lots of Food”
It started off with hot glazed doughnuts (plus another dozen of assorted half-off) Friday night from Downtown Donuts. We’d heard about their hot, glazed events on Friday night but had never made it out to one until Friday. Boy, howdy. The doughnuts were beautiful so we shared our bounty with Michael and his roommates the next day and my parents on Sunday. One doughnut can feed two people and they are simply, “ YUM “, so five out of five stars.
Saturday was busy. Phillip and I ran errands and hit the Enterprise Farmer’s Market as it was closing up and scored a dozen farm fresh eggs and a loaf of homemade cheddar jalapeño bread. We made sandwiches with the bread on Saturday and I turned what was left into a couple of quiches Sunday morning.
I had a cowrite Saturday afternoon with a new artist and we have a new song we are working so that always excites and inspires me. More about that very soon!
Saturday night was Comedy Night at Happy Times. Phillip and I ended up hosting but there was a lot of buzz in downtown Ozark with a car show, chilli cook-off, and show at Harlow’s. Phillip and I went to Waffle House after our set to wind-down and eat as we were rushed trying to get over to our show in time and had not eaten dinner. Lol- we live a wild life but we just roll with it.
Sunday was filled with family things including meeting new friends, seeing my parents, taking Reagan and her boyfriend bowling, grabbing take-out and watching American Idol. It was a good, busy weekend but my pants no longer fit so time to get back to walking and drinking water. Hope you all have a great Monday!
