Atypical & Awesome “Connections”

For much of my life, I was alone. Although frequently surrounded by people, I never quite “fit in”. I had debilitating social anxiety in high school and various other nuances and unfortunate personal circumstances which made life pretty hard back then. Those are stories for another day. What I do want to talk about is our human need for connection. Today, I had conversations with friends who are teenagers and young adults, friends in their sixties, my sister, my mom, my adult kids, my younger kids, and everything in between. What a blessing to have so many connections. A true friend is a rare thing but deep and genuine relationships are finally a part of my life. I have found my tribe. Granted my tribe changes members as life ebbs and flows but it is usually made up of just really cool, diverse and accepting people. Maybe a little quirky but I would expect nothing less. If you are in my tribe- thank you. Our connection means the world to me. Go out and love someone today- life is super short.
