Atypical & Awesome “New Year’s Eve”
Oh, the magic of New Year’s Eve- the sparkle, the bubbly, the hope for better times ahead. I always have visions of long sequin dresses, champagne toasts, and glamorous midnight kisses at some elegant party in the city. Alas. sparkling grape juice and a charcuterie while watching “Rocking in the New Year” is pretty much our standard fare. We are simple folks- lol
2021. She kinda kicked our butt. Phillip and I both had COVID, we had a crazy amount of external stressors, and life was often hard. Like- really hard. But we also had some huge events this year, too. Phillip changed professions after 25 (or more) years in hospitality. His new job has been challenging at times but for the most part a much better fit for him and our family. Alice and I had a big single release with “Girlfriend” and have had some crazy exciting things with that- the Nashville Sign, interviews, and soon- a big push to radio.
Autumn graduated college in May and got a great remote paid internship with an agency out of New York which led to a permanent offer from another agency based out of Toronto. This agency has a location in NYC and Autumn has been working remote since the end of November and will be moving there by March 1. NYC!!! Aaaahhh!
Conner is finishing his senior year in college, Michael his senior year in high school, and Reagan is blossoming in middle school. Sarah is in Seattle working as a travel nurse and doing great things. Quinn is growing up so fast and we can’t wait to get our hands on her again. My sweet niece, Caroline started college at Auburn this year and us thriving. It has been a dizzying year.
Next year, will bring huge changes to our family and I will be scaling back in some areas to focus on our family and writing. I plan to have a lot more cuts next year and already have several in the works. God bless you all, thank you for being a part of this journey and have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
