Atypical & Awesome “Happy New Year”

We had a great New Year’s Eve! Yesterday was spent eating party food and drinking mocktails all day while watching the Sugar Bowl (Roll Tide!) and the other twelve hours of football ;) I drug Phillip away from the tv during the GA game, donned a sparkly top and purple eyeshadow, and we headed to the newly revamped Rumors bar in Level Plains to rock in the new year with The Rock Mpb.

The Rock Mob. Fantastic musicianship. There are a lot of 80’s cover bands out there but as far as staying true to the sound and skill of 80’s hair bands- I think these guys win the top spot. Jessie Mann’s vocals are insane. The drummer (will have to get his name) blew me away with his ability to handle the kit while nailing the nuances of Axl Rose’s voice. Stellar. Jason Harlow is in his element on lead guitar and the bass player and keyboard players play as though they have just gotten off a 1984 tour bus. Seriously. The keys. I really need to practice more. That intro into A-Ha’s “Take on Me” is looping in my psyche this morning. Go see them. You’ll be glad you did. And if you are a booking agent- book them- you’ll be glad you did.
