Great weekend, Busy week, and Angels Unaware

We had a great weekend, truly. I spent all Saturday with my daughters and niece (ages 22,18, and 12). We went to an open house at a local nursery where we bought my mom some oddly lovely plant for Christmas. We then had lunch at a cool lil hip cafe and then found a huge antique store we truly could get lost in. We had a blast! My son also came home from college for the holidays so it was great. Plus, we took my mom her plant and got to visit with her and my nephew (distantly). Sunday, I sang in choir at church and then had choir practice in which the choir is practicing a song I wrote so that is really special. I then had guitar practice and show practice for a show this weekend (Candy Canes and Carols- stay tuned!). Then, I attend a small ladies get-together at a friend’s. Really sweet times. This week is equally as busy as I am running a small holiday song contest, have my church’s Christmas program, and that holiday show I mentioned earlier coming up on Saturday. All mixed in with my atypical work and family responsibilities-whew!

I do want to take a moment to pause, though. In the hustle and bustle of the season it is easy to forget the pain and emptiness so many are feeling this time of year and this year, especially. God has shown me firsthand this season, how a few minutes of caring can truly change everything for someone. Sometimes, we become angels unaware. Slow down and look, listen, and pay attention. Who do you need to reach out to? Who could use an encouraging text? The little things are the big things- there is more I would like to say but I will leave you with this- my wish for you is love. You are not alone and you are loved. Happy Holidays, dear ones.
