Atypical & Awesome “Writing the Wrongs”

So, someone made a rude and hurtful comment about me and pretended to be on good terms with me minutes later. I’ve cut off contact with this person and have made some additional changes to better protect my boundaries and time. I realize that person’s actions and words simply illuminate their insecurities. As we say in the south, “bless her heart”.
I’m pouring into those who pour into me and it has been a productive and great weekend. Friday night, we attended Hoobler Open Mic where Alice Nelson performed a couple of our cowrites including, “Girlfriend” and “Here Comes the Rain” which we cowrote with Dennis Powell. Dennis and I have been working on a song this weekend to pitch to a band. We’ve had some interesting conversations about fingernail polish- lol! I also worked with an R&B writer and producer from Georgia- he sent me a track and I sent back a melody and lyric. What a cool experience working in a genre which is atypical for me. It was awesome (see what I did there?).
Oh! Jessica Lavallee’s, “Small Town Girl” is #9 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown this week!!! Top Ten- woohoo!!! Great things going on! I’ll be writing later today! May have to write a song about moving on and moving up! See you at the top!
