Atypical & Awesome “Topsy Turvy”
February has been something else to be honest. There has been sickness- my body had a successful immune reaction to my second COVID vaccine and I ended up down for the count Valentine’s weekend. The same day I became ill, a dear friend succumbed after a short and brutal battle with melanoma. There was stress, sadness, but also joy. Even though I was sick, I had a fantastic time playing the Kimono My House Online Galentine Festival. I also participated in another online spoken word event through the Wiregrass Museum of Art’s Write Night. I had several great writes this month and am proud of the songs written with Shelia Quattlebaum, Jessica Lavallee, Alice Nelson, and Drew Taylor this month. I organized and led our monthly South Alabama Songwriters meeting complete with a highly competitive original love song contest. I spent lots of time with family this month and had some really neat experiences like making oven dried tomatoes for the first time and having my first boba tea. I’m all about new experiences. Life can be dizzying at times. So much. But it is a crazy kaleidoscope of beauty, too. Thank you for sharing it with me.
