Atypical & Awesome “Over the Hump & Opportunities”
It’s Saturday morning and I finally feel I am over the hump of my second bout with COViD. Still have a dry cough with some body aches and fatigue but it doesn’t feel as scary as it did earlier this week. I have some cool opportunities including doing a music-talk program in conjunction with a local library this summer that sounds like a real treat- so stay tuned! I have writes lined up with and for some special indie artists this week so I’ll get to work on country, Americana, and holiday songs :) I’m also in talks with an R&B artist do that will be a nice challenge, too. This Sunday, South Alabama Songwriters start our monthly in-person meetings back up so if you are a local songwriter come join us. Oh! Alice Nelson’s, “Girlfriend” was named, “Song of the Month” on Rt66’s IG- woohoo! First- Song of the Day, then, Song of the Week, and now, Song of the Month. Be sure to stream it and request it on your local radio stations. Finally, Phillip and I masked up and attended Hoobler Music’s Open-Mic last night. This might have been the most diversified one, yet! Acoustic guitars, piano, drums, ukulele, bass, mandolin, and even an accordion showed up! Everything from Harry Chapin to polka-it was great! The best part was seeing SAS members play their original songs. What courage it takes to perform something original- i am so proud of them and the growth they are showing as writers. SAS- come be a part.
