Atypical & Awesome “Calm before the Calm”

I’m enjoying a few minutes of serenity and coffee before all our weekend activities kick off (pun intended). Apparently, there’s a pretty big ball game today ;) I plan to get out and go to a fall festival and painting class. Last weekend reminded me my adrenaline does not do well when it is overstimulated so I’m gonna let my husband enjoy his games in all their glory while I flee. Lol This is a true case of fight or flight- lol Please note, Phillip is never ugly or aggressive towards me- he just yells at the tv and eats cheese balls lol

Yesterday, I worked on a new song with my friend and long-term collaborator Canadian artist, Jessica Lavallee. This one is very traditional as a throwback and tribute in the style of the beloved Loretta Lynn. It’s always a treat to write some good ol traditional country music.

This week Alice Nelson heads up to Nashville for the Josie Awards where she is up for female vocalist (country) and several songwriting recognitions. A couple of our cowrites are in the mix including “Friend” which we wrote with Dustin Ford and “Here Comes the Rain” which we wrote with Dennis Powell. Good luck, girlfriend! ;)

Kristan Mikala has been getting great response to our latest cowrite, “You Ruined Everything”. I really like this one and will post a link to her youtube performance, Kristan has her first single coming out later this month so be sure to follow her on social media.

Also, don’t forget to follow Tianna Woods whose single, “Country Girls Rock” (Wagner, Fritsche) repped by Second City Songs and AMPS releases to Canadian radio and streaming services on October 24! Get your boots ready to rock!
