Atypical & Awesome “Sands”

The past few days have been filled with a little bit of everything: love, loss, music, life, school, work, cats, candles, cookies, plans.

Last night, I had a great consult with a new artist I will be writing with over the next few months. I will be introducing him to you all soon- so stay tuned. I always enjoy writing with new artists because they still have that passion and excitement of the “maybe”. It will be nice to have some of that energy again.

On the other side, I woke up to sad news yesterday. One of the kindest, most encouraging souls I have met left this world yesterday after a courageous battle with cancer. Roscoe Kahumoku you were a much needed light in the world and you will be missed so much.

In honor of Roscoe, I challenge everyone to just simply be nice to someone today. I was at an music open- mic one time with Roscoe and I expressed that I’m afriad of messing up on stage. His response- “who cares- do it anyway”. Sing out of tune, flub a song on guitar, do it anyway. Music is a gift to be shared- share it even if it’s not perfect. Thank you, Roscoe. You shared your heart and love of music with us all. We were blessed to know you. Aloha, amen.
