Atypical & Awesome “Beat of My Own Drum”

This week has been a week of stepping outside of comfort zones. I hosted an event on Tuesday night (which is not unusual) but my daughter (the recent college grad) joined me and was thrust into a world of industry networking with mom. My husband is definitely living outside his comfort zone right now (details to follow). For me, I have been wanting to attend a drumming circle for months. Yesterday, I bought myself my first drum and went to my first drumming circle. My daughter went with me as a spectator. We were both out of our comfort zones but I am so glad we pushed ourselves to try something new. I definitely plan to do it again! We also tried a new restaurant last weekend as a family and dined al fresco while listening to a couple of friends play music. Plus, we tried maple cotton candy and a Taco Cake this week. New experiences- life is short- give them a shot :)
