Atypical & Awesome “Christmas Fog”
The fog outside is thick this morning. In fact, we’ve had a lot of fog lately- dense fog that opens the day and heavy, thick fog that paints the sky eerie hues at 4:30 in the afternoon. Boy, does the fog seem timely this year, though. I don’t remember fog quite like this- it creeps in and covers me and at times impairs my ability to see. Familiar? Maybe you have your own Christmas fog- a blanket of heaviness that takes over. Grief, regret, longing..,, Christmas just hits differently for you this year. Maybe you’re just not really sure why you feel sad- you just do. The happiest and jolliest time of the year is neither happy nor jolly. I see you. I see you friend- your pain and suffering. You are so loved. There is a light shining through this fog. Fog is temporary. Just hang on- there is a light. The brightest and most beautiful light we can ever imagine. Take a moment- breathe. The fog will lift and the light will shine. The light will shine.
