Atypical & Awesome, “Tool, Brunch, & Happy Times”
What a weekend. We are exhausted but it was worth it. Friday, Phillip and I took off early and headed to Birmingham to see Tool in concert. I had a rough few days at work before this so I was feeling pretty bad. The concert itself actually was very enjoyable and I’m glad Phillip got to experience it. We did the Waffle House thing after the concert which is something I haven’t done since college. However, our bodies told us pretty quickly that despite going to a rock concert and Waffle House, we aren’t twenty-two anymore. Let’s just say my drug of choice was Ibuprofen.
Saturday, we met Alex for brunch in Montgomery. I got to see Salem whom I haven’t seen since his adoption and he is doing great. Our brunch was good but the service sucked so to quote Forrest Gump, “that’s all I’ve got to say about that”. What should have been an hour took two hours so… yeah. At least we were able to spend some time with Alex.
Last night, I was just about asleep on the couch when I got a text about Comedy Night at Happy Times. Phillip and I made a last minute decision to participate. We saw some friends and did one set. We had to bail early due to some other obligations.
I’ve spent today finishing up some grad school work and chilling with Saffy. Things are busy as usual bur we’re getting there. Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for being there!
