Atypical & Awesome “Farmer’s Market and Football”
It’s Saturday in the south, so you know what that means in the fall- football, football, and more football. I can hear Phillip grunting in the living room so I guess Bama is giving up a point or two. I’m in the bedroom and I’ve learned “boom!” means Bama scored and grunts mean they didn’t. A door closing means they lost. An occasional victory lap around the yard means they won. I really don’t have to watch the games anymore to know what’s going on. I just listen to Phillip’s “noises” lol
We did venture out to the local high school football game last night. Reagan and one of her friends wanted to go and the school has an “under 16 must be chaperoned” policy so we “took one for the team”. It was nice. All my years volunteering with the high school band made it a strange experience to not have to “work” at a ballgame. So I ate nachos with my honey under stadium lights. It was sweet. But, lawdy I’m too old for three hours sitting on bleachers lol
It’s Oct.1- one of my favorite days of the year as my favorite month is upon us. I celebrated by going to our local farmer’s market. I was on a mission to find apple bread and winterbery jam. No luck on the winterberrry jam but I did find strawberry-peach-cinnamon jam and pepper jelly. I bought a loaf of apple walnut bread and banana nut bread-YUM. I also bought some of the biggest tomatoes ever. It was a good haul.
I’ve been working on grad school work today and I’m all caught up. I am LOVING my classes. Online has been a blessing for me. Phillip has all the “football spread” food out and Alex is cooking wings. It’s a good day. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
