Atypical & Awesome “Write Night, a decade, and Writer’s Block”

Stopping in to say hello and give a few updates this morning. The weather is gonna be bad later today to include rain and frigid weather moving in. So, I’ve got three soups going in my three seater crock pot- chicken tortilla, hamburger soup, and corn chowder- yum.

Tonight is the Writer’s Block Party at the Dothan/Houston County Public Library at 5:30 pm where I’ll be one of the featured panelists. Brave the weather and come on out if writing is your thing or something you’d like to learn more about.

Speaking of writing, Wiregrass Museum of Art hosted their quarterly Write Night Tuesday night. I participated and shared four of my autumnal poems. It’s always nice to meet others in the writing community so I encourage anyone “dabbling” or established in writing to check this out. The next Write Night Open-Mic will be in February.

So, it’s a big week for me. Yesterday, marked ten years at my current employer (the day gig) as a therapist for troubled adolescents. I am so blessed to work with these kids. I am doing what I always wanted to do. You just can’t beat that. I love being a therapist. I love being a songwriter. i love being a publisher. i love being a wife and mom. Things get tough- REALLY tough sometimes, but boy, am I blessed.

Thank you for being a part of the journey.
