Blue Plate Blog Episode 8- Ring the Bell- Dinner and Vacay is ON!
Entrée: Let’s go out to eat. Maybe. Well, Gov. Ivey just released restaurants to reopen their dining rooms at 50 % capacity starting Monday, May 11. Safe distancing protocols and practices will be put in place. Please be careful- and be nice. Restaurants have really been put through the ringer through all of this and many have severe staff shortages. It has stretched most restaurants to their limit, so if you do “dine in” be kind. I will probably hold off for a few weeks myself but will continue to utilize curbside. I’ve enjoyed frequenting both local and chain establishments during this time of quarantine to show support. Locally owned franchises hire local people so be it a chain or smaller establishment every dollar spent locally helps our neighbor. This weekend is the busiest weekend of the year for most restaurants- why? Mother’s Day- but this year it’s gonna be curbside for mama. It’s all gonna be a-okay.
First side: Today is my last day at work and then I am off a much needed nine days. I love my work as a therapist for troubled adolescents but I cannot wait to focus on writing and my family for a while. My heart is happy. Well, it will be once I actually have everything squared away and say bye to my work kids <3
Second side: I have many interests but a few passions. Mental health is a passion of mine. Songwriting is a passion of mine. My family most definitely is a passion of my mine. Loving my husband- my sweetest passion. Passion is a cool word. What are your passions?
Dessert: Look forward to cooking up a storm while I am home, too. I truly love cooking and am a huge fan of Food Network with The Pioneer Woman, Trisha Yearwood, and Valerie Bertinelli’s shows as my favorites. Even with food, there is a music connection as two out of those three have music ties 😉
Until next time- order’s up!
