Atypical & Awesome “Absolute Blast”

I’ve had a blast the past two nights. Monday night was Darrell Qualls’ Writers Night at Bugsy’s. I hadn’t been in quite a while so it was good to get hugs and see what everybody has been working on. I even shared a slightly inappropriate Valentine’s Day poem with the crowd.

Tues night- Valentine’s Day. Phillip is out of town, so I ventured out alone. First stop was the Wiregrass Museum of Art for Write Night. Such a fun event and a great turnout. I shared 4 poems including that slightly inappropriate Valentine’s poem and a poem I plan to share in Atlanta at the PB&J event in April. Always inspired by our local talent!

Afterwards, I scooted over to Mural City Coffee Company for Play the Cafe where Adam Cotton and Alice Nelson were performing. Alice played several of our cowrites so that was special. Plus, I had a beautifully crafted Valentine’s latte. Also, i heard from several songwriter friends last night about working together and possibly starting the SAS meetings back up. South Alabama Songwriters which I founded back in 2019 or 2018- a few years back, regardless

. It really was a great night despite missing two big pieces of my heart, yesterday. One was in Pensacola and the other NYC. i’ll see one tomorrow and the other next month-sigh.

Now to focus on tomorrow night- the big comedy show at Jake’s.. 8 pm- come on out!
