Atypical & Awesome “Sunday State of Mind”
I am so grateful for a day of rest. I’m tired! It has been a good day. Phillip and I went to church this morning where I am a front row soprano in choir :) On the way home, there was a big ol snake in the road which we are pretty sure was an Eastern diamondback rattlesnake- yikes. Part of living in the country is coexisting with some scary creatures sometimes. A friend said sometimes farmers will keep baby alligators in their ponds to take care of the snakes. I’m not sure if this is an improvement! Kidding- alligators are mostly harmless unless provoked but I still don’t wanna have one anywhere near me. I respect them- over there. In music news, I started a cool song yesterday- I worked out the lyric and will revisit the melody later- maybe even tonight. I also co-wrote today with seventeen year old Alice Nelson and boy, do I love the song we are working on. We’ve written some good stuff and Alice is starting to really shine. She’ll be doing several shows in Nashville in a few weeks so make sure you follow her online to keep up with her going on’s. I’m just kinda chilling right now and listening to some great 90’s country. How I miss it- I need to go honky tonking complete with line dancing one day soon. I worked at a local radio station in the early nineties and I vividly remembering playing these songs for the first time and it was a great time in music. Songs were written so well- man, miss it much. So, I’m waxing a lil nostalgic tonight- and just like the song playing- time marches on.
