Atypical & Awesome “Peace”
I am laying in bed enjoy a few minutes of serenity before the rest of the house awakes. Sapphire is nestled against me, the heater is on, Phillip is sleeping. Soon, the kids will be up and eager to go shopping to spend their “Christmas money” and gift cards they received, yesterday. I used to love to do that when I was their age so au completely understand. It was one of the few days of the year my mother would buy fast-food for us and it was a treat. I will be getting a 20 piece chicken McNugget meal later today for nostalgia :) But for now, I will enjoy the quiet.
The kids had a wonderful Christmas- in fact, we all did. As I get older, I realize more and more how priceless and irreplaceable time with family is- it is truly all I want. In a world of chaos, our home is one of peace and love and I do not take one minute of that for granted. Do we have issues at times? Of course. There are times we do not get along and we are pushed to our breaking point. But we make it and we have far more good days than bad days these days. Having a blended family is challenging under the best of circumstances. I am proud of the progress we have made and most of all I am proud of the peace we have created- we have ALL (adults and kids) worked to have a love-filled and peaceful home. What a very, merry Christmas. Blessed.
