Atypical & Awesome “Tuscaloosa to NYC”

Whew! It has been a weekend! Phillip and I took Autumn and Alex to the Amtrak station in Tuscaloosa, yesterday for them to make the 26 hour trek back to NYC. It was so interesting and exciting as we’ve not dealt with trains before.

The train had more space than expected and there were two charging ports per two seat section. Lots of leg room and the seats reclined. We will pack pillows and blankets next time as Autumn said it was cold- especially this morning. There was food available for purchase but you can also bring your own food and drinks which is helpful.

We learned so much through this experience and I think as a whole it was a good experience for Alex and Autumn. I know they are so glad to be off the train and in her apartment tonight and will sleep so well! Phillip and I are strongly considering the train for when we go up in the spring. Here’s to new experiences:)
