Atypical & Awesome “Spider Webs and Candles”

It’s been a day of beautiful things. Last night, Phillip brought home a sweet bouquet of flowers for me accented by a gorgeous sunflower. They are perched on my mantle and just make me so happy. Flowers are my “thing”. Fresh-cut flowers bring me so much joy. I understand why Elton John spends thousands of dollars a month to ensure his home is filled with them.

This morning, I was running behind and as I quickly backed my car up to leave, something glimmered in the field by our house and caught my eye. I looked closer and hit the brakes and rolled down my window. What looked like breathtaking spider webs were everywhere. I’ve never seen anything like it. I parked the car and ran to take a few pics. I was speechless- they were beautiful. Now upon further research (five minutes on google), they “could” have been a fungus related to our heavy rains but I will say the patterns were so intricate they also could have legitimately been spider webs. But they were beautiful and bizarre and worth the morning “pause”.

Tonight, I lit candles and ate caramel brownie bites and watched “Shark Tank” while hoping one day to have a Shark Tank worthy pitch. Until then, I will work the day gig as a therapist and continue to write songs. Despite all the not-so- lovely parts of life, my day has been filled with so, so many beautiful things.
