Atypical & Awesome “Really Good Friday”
Thursday was rough- really rough. But Friday- well, it was Good. I had the day off which is a rarity and even rarer was the kids had school and Phillip worked so I was alone with just Saffy. I spent the day in my pjs doing dishes and laundry, baking a cake, and watching a Brady Brunch marathon. Because I was still dealing with car trouble and dishwasher trouble and I had to be at church for our Good Friday service, I IDoorDashed Captain D’s for our traditional fish n chips and it was amazingly good- seriousply.
Our Tenebrae service at church was beautiful. I was honored to be in the choir and to sing such emotional songs including “Were You There” and “It is Finished”. The ringing of a bell 33 times at the conclusion of the service was exceptionally moving. The service is online on Facebook if you’d like to watch it- look up St. Luke UMC, Enterprise on FB.
After church, Phillip and I stopped by Sixtel and Growler to support Alice Nelson. We had a nice chat with her parents and enjoyed seeing Alice shine in a new environment. Phillip and I are not drinkers, but the venue is really cute and has a cool vibe. I can see its appeal- it feels more like a coffee shop which is right up our alley.
