Atypical & Awesome “Easter Weekend”

Easter weekend was wonderful. Saturday morning, I participated in the 2nd Annual PB&J Poetry Festival on Kimono My House- Atlanta. I shared 5 of my poems. For 6 hours poets across the world, shared poetry online and in-person. What a cool event and thank you to my friend Sylvia we took Reagan and a friend to a carnival in Dothan. Michael asked to stay home as he was tired. Phillip and I rode rides, ate fair food, and took a ton of pictures. Once we got back home, I made deviled eggs, a strawberry-pretzel layered dessert, and a breakfast casserole for Sunday. Let’s just say, I slept HARD Saturday night.
Easter Sunday, we had a beautiful brunch. Phillip and I went to church where I sang in the choir and we had our picture made in front of the flowering cross. Despite the rain, it was a beautiful day but oh, how my heart ached for Autumn, Alex, Sarah, and Quinn. That evening, Saffy and I ate Easter candy and watched, “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown”. I’m a child of the 70’s and I get more and more nostalgic each year.
