Atypical & Awesome “Candles, Good Chocolate, and the Sound of Rain”
Like most evenings, my thoughts are running free tonight. So many things to think about, to plan, to stew about, to regret, to reminisce, to hope. The state of the world, the state of my life- all of it. I said goodbye to a special person this week. A successful woman who had taken me under her wing and encouraged me during a time in my life when I needed that encouragement. I was reminded how much successful women need other successful women in their camp. I am blessed to mentor several young women at the beginning of their careers. A good strong supportive ally is a huge asset. Women really should support other women more. Unfortunately, there seems to be more back biting and clawing to get ahead- even at my age. I see it in those close to me and it’s truly sad. I’m grateful for the success I have had and will gladly help those who are gracious and teachable. If I ever feel used or taken advantage of, that door will close real quick. But alas, I’m not allowing that negative energy in my brain space. I am enjoying an evening of serenity filled with candles, good chocolate, and the sound of rain. Gratitude-it’s a good thing.
