Atypical & Awesome “Most Magical”

It’s Christmas Eve- the most magical day of the year. I’ve fallen in love with Christmas Eve through the years and it’s probably my favorite day of the year. It’s the calm before the storm and all the “rushed business” of Christmas Day. It’s a time of quiet reflection and I think of the night so long ago when peace came to earth for a moment. Oh, how I long for that moment again.

I think about relationships and grief and what so many go through this time of year. Sometimes we find ourselves complaining or frustrated we have “too many” places to be or “too many” gifts to buy or “too many” things to do at Christmas. But what a blessing “too many” is as there are those who have “one less” this year… or none. Those who are estranged or otherwise separated from loved ones. Friends, please know you are loved. Do not be alone today- find a human connection somewhere. Make a phone call or send a text. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Take blankets to a homeless shelter. You have a place in this world. It is the season of miracles and today is the most magical day. I pray you are filled with joy today- true joy that only cones from that deep peace of eternal love. Merry Christmas Eve.
