Atypical & Awesome “Relief and Restarting”
Well, the past couple of weeks have been a roller coaster. Music wise, I’ve been working my tail off co-writing (new songs with Jessica Lavallee, Shelia Quattlebaum, Drew Taylor, and Alice Nelson), solo writing- have some I can’t wait to share with you, and getting ready for the big online “Galentine” show on Feb.13 via Kimono my House (Atlanta). Also have attended several networking events including a couple of open-mics this week. All this in addition to working my regular full-time job as a therapist and balancing my other responsibilities including being a wife, mom, and servant to a persnickety Siamese. This is the high part of the roller coaster and I love it.
The low part. Not so fun. I had a medical scare this week and it brought a whole lot of anxiety. However, I am relieved to say I am well and my fears were put to rest. I now have established care with a primary doctor which I have needed for a long time. I also now have my first mammogram behind me. I can literally breathe now.
Life is something else. Every day has brought more than I can possibly post here. All we can do is keep keep on keeping’ on (to quote a song I wrote with Mark Dolin). Sometimes we have to hit “pause” and then “restart”. Well, I must go- life awaits. Have a great weekend.
