Atypical & Awesome “Perfectly Delayed Plans”
Autumn and I arrived in Panama City yesterday just in time for her flight back to NYC to be cancelled. Since we were already in town, we decided to have lunch at the beach. We drove down “the strip” to our favorite beachside eatery. We ate seafood and drank tropical drinks as we watched the jet skis and para-sailors. Afterwards, we drove back up the strip to one of the public piers. We paid the man at the window $6.00 and walked down the long pier over the Gulf of Mexico. We took selfies and photos galore. It was such a sweet time. I guess God knew I needed one more day with my girl. She is now safely back in NYC and my heart does not ache quite aa much. I’m so proud of her.
I sat in on an NSAI- Birmingham zoom meeting last night and enjoyed hearing what they have been up to and offering feedback on their songs. Hope to stop in again soon- maybe even in person.
Tonight, I had a cowrite with a writer from Ohio. I think he said I was one of his first cowrites. I had fun helping him tweak a song he’d started almost ten years ago. It’s always fun to give new life to an idea. I have more cowrites this week. It’s my happy place. Kinda like the beach but without the tourists. I’m learning to embrace the changes that life is bringing- everything has its time and sometimes a delay is exactly what is needed.
