Atypical & Awesome “Intentional”
My new personal goal is to be intentional. To do things that serve a purpose and to not do things when I need a break. To be productive without being worn out and “spent”. To listen deeply, to eat good food, and to take walks. Hitting the brakes more and saying “no” to things that feel obligatory rather than intentional. Saving space physically and mentally for things that matter. Being intentional with my time and life. I like this- a lot.
Oh, I’m still busy. I wrote with two new cowriters this week and have writes, consults, and even a discussion group booked. But I’m taking time to savor things. We have major and wonderful things happening in our family. Michael graduates high school this week. Alex is in the job hunt after graduating college two weeks ago. Autumn lives in New York. My niece just started a 35 day trek across Europe. It’s an exciting time. I’m living in the now. Now is good. I am focusing on these moments because if there is one thing I know is time flies. Don’t blink.
Some of my intentional living today included going to the Farmer’s Market and buying fresh tomatoes which I turned into BLT’s for lunch and a great pasta dish for dinner. I also received my new summer candles I had ordered. After dinner, I took an extra few laps with my husband around our yard for our after dinner walk. Oh, and I made a Tik Tok of Sapphire and posted it. It’s been a good day. Don’t blink. Be intentional. Breathe in, breathe out- smell your candles.
