Atypical & Awesome “Blessings in Strange Little Packages”

Today started with potential stress on several fronts. I had made a doctor’s appointment to follow-up about this excruciating lower back pain I’ve been dealing with for two weeks. Phillip wanted to go with me so he made arrangements at work to accompany me. I have to say, I was very impressed with my medical care today. My physician (and her nurse) were both proactive and I had an in-office x-ray and orders for a CT scan at the hospital along with new prescriptions. We’re still not 100 percent sure but it does seem kidney stones could be the culprit.

Now for the blessings part. Because of the appointment and CT scan, Phillip and I got to spend a rare Friday together. I also got some extra time with Alex and Saffy. In addition, we’ve had a dog visiting us since last night. The kids have loved it. I ordered pizza (which Phillip picked up) and we had some rare at-home Friday night family time. I got a really sweet gift from Caroline in the mail- some Czech herbal tea from her recent trip to Europe. Plus, we’re turning in early tonight. So today was not what I had “planned” and I hate to miss out on some music things but I’m feeling blessed tonight. Good night.
