Atypical & Awesome “Numbers Game”
I don’t like Math and the only class I failed in high school was Geometry (zero spatial sense). Yet, I love statistics. This week, I calculated I have performed 10,000 clinical hours as a therapist including leading approximately 1300 group counseling sessions and 8700 individual and family sessions- that’s a lot of therapy. If you are interested in booking me to speak about mental health issues, please reach out. I’d love to see what we can coordinate.
As far as songwriting, I stopped counting how many songs I’ve written years ago. Somewhere in the mid-hundreds, I would think. I know I wrote three hundred in a three year span around my divorce about ten years ago. So, just a loose estimate would be 500? However, I have had 30 songs commercially released by 14 different artists (2 of these will be dropping within the next month or two so I counted them). I do have many other songs I’ve written with artists that have been recorded but were not released or are still in the running for other projects so more out there but not “counted”, yet. A couple of songs I cowrote with Alice Nelson are up for Songwriter Achievement recognitions with the Josie Music Awards. “Small Town Girl” by Jessica Lavallee is #6 this week on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown (was previously #4 last week and #1 two weeks ago!) i also have a CCM song being worked on with an artist currently in Alaska who is working towards the finals of a major singing competition- how cool is that? (it is Alaska- so pretty cool-lol)
This week I’m writing with a new cowriter and will be sitting in on the NSAI-Birmingham meeting via zoom. I’ve had recent cowrites in the genres of folk, bluegrass, and R&B! It’s always fun to expand that creative flow.
If you’d like to book me to speak to your group about songwriting or publishing- I’d love to see what we can coordinate! Pay is dependent on group size and travel. We can zoom if needed.
Have a great week, everyone!
