Blue Plate Blog- 30 Days of Peace Day 9

Part of learning how to live a more peaceful life is learning how to switch gears. For example, when you feel your stress accelerating- learning how to tap the brakes. Today, my stress level is higher than I would like so I am taking a few moments to decompress. If I remain in that stressful state and allow myself to stew about things my stress will continue to increase. So, I am hitting the breaks. (Spelling-intentional) I am eating which is a sensory experience but smelling essential oils, coloring a picture, or listening to music could also serve as sensory breaks. If you are feeling stress- don’t stew- diffuse. A sensory break can help keep your body calm and lower your overall adrenaline which is a stress hormone. It works. Try it- have a peaceful day, dear ones.
