Blue Plate Blog Episode 27- “Success, Oddballs, and the Great Gecko”
Entree: Success. What a potent little word. Success means…. well, what does success mean? Financial success, notoriety, some sort of completion or accomplishment. Success is actually deeply personal. There have been days in my past when I was profoundly sick when walking to the mailbox was a success. There have been days recently where I have felt “unsuccessful” because I not achieved certain things I feel I should have at this point in my career. Success- what a mean little word. But then I had a long, hard think with myself. I reminded myself what I HAVE achieved at this point in my career, in my family, in my life, in my heart. Huge success. What a weird little word.
First side: I typically love songwriters. We are oddballs usually extro- introverts who lean towards being highly sensitive empaths. Social anxiety reigns supreme with us. If this sounds like you, I invite you to be a part of South Alabama Songwriters- find us on Facebook. Our next meeting is June 8 6:30 pm at Hoobler Music in Enterprise.
Second side: There is a lizard loose in our kitchen. I have a few phobias and lizards are at the top of my hell-no list. Therefore, I am now referring to it as a gecko. Makes him less threatening. Kinda like he could save me 15% on my car insurance..,, which is where I will be living until he is removed from the kitchen!
Dessert- I made the best tostadas last night using pan-fried fresh corn. Sooo much yum. But the picture didn’t take so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Tonight-homemade lasagna- pics to follow-maybe.
