Atypical & Awesome “It’s Been A Month”
A month ago, I left a big piece of my heart in NYC. Autumn, our precious and amazing 23 year old daughter is rocking the big city. She has a great apartment in Brooklyn and is taking in the sights and sounds of her new neighborhood. She’s gone into Manhattan several times and has attended her first Broadway show, gone to a big concert, checked out museums, and eaten at fancy restaurants- she is living the life.
Through this experience, Phillip and I were able to knock several things off our bucket lists as well: NY food to include pizza, bagels, and hot dogs, visiting Strawberry Fields in Central Park, and Times Square selfies :) It was magical and we can’t wait to get back and take some of the other kids.
Over the past week, we had a great visit with Alex who is finishing up their last semester in college at Alabama. Alex graduates in early May with a computer science degree. Alex is starting the job search and is too looking at big cities- perhaps even international. Shoot for the moon, I say. Always.
Well, today is a big day as Michael has his senior prom. I met Michael on his 10th birthday. Little did I know that I would soon be a bonus mom to Michael and would watch him grow into a kind and talented young man. Time goes so fast. It is surreal.
Music -wise, A LOT has been going on and is going on. I will do an update soon but in the meantime check out the social media sites for Alice Nelson, Jessica Lavallee, Kristan Mikayla, Hurricane Highway, Frank Fletcher, Darrell Qualls, David Martin, Cameron Stephens and Camz Jamz, South Alabama Songwriters, and Kimono my House-Atlanta just to name a few!
