Atypical & Awesome “Butter Beans in the Crock Pot”

It’s Sunday morning and I am laying in bed. I got up and put butter beans and bacon in the crock pot. Now, I’m thinking about that first cup of coffee but the bed is warm so I may wait a minute. Phillip often brings me my first cup but he had to run an early morning errand so he is not here right now. I think I might be just a tad spoiled.
We had a very “atypical” quiet-ish weekend. Friday night was Michael’s senior prom and Reagan spent the night with a friend. Michael made it through the prom and we are super proud he decided to go and we were shocked when he told us last week he wanted to go. He is also going to the beach today with friends. Those are big victories few will understand but we will take them.

I worked on a few new songs, yesterday. There was a moment yesterday when Phillip and I were in the car and I played a few songs of mine off of blue tooth through the speakers. Trey sound great in the car- they really do. Phillip said regardless what happens with any of my songs he is super proud of me. We then had a conversation we have a lot about the importance of proper marketing and exploitation. The best product in the world is useless if the masses don’t know about it. While it is easier than ever to record and release music the market is over saturated which makes it hard to find one’s audience. I love Lori from Shark Tank and she often says, “work smarter not harder”. This is my mantra.
So if you support what I do as a songwriter, please help me work smarter not harder by sharing my product with your friends- post links on social media, stream on streaming platforms daily (a few streams every day adds up and makes the songs more likely to be added to playlists), purchase downloads- that 99 cent purchase is HUGE as far as algorithms, and most importantly, call and request on your local radio stations. Even if they do not have it- offer to email it. Or let me know the email address and I will. Radio play is what we want and need. A little bit of action from a lot of people can change the trajectory of a song. I appreciate every single one of you.
I hope your Sunday is restful and you have time to reflect and restore for the week ahead. I believe today is the first day or spring- the season of renewal. Good morning, dear ones- let the sunshine hit your face.
