Atypical & Awesome “Release Party and Release Day!”

I finally have a minute to sit down and digest the past 24 hours. Last night was the release party at Bugsy’s Saloon for Alice Nelson’s new single, “Here Comes the Rain”. It was a really special night celebrating not only the release but friends in music. i was able to spend some quality time with AMPS writer, Dennis Powell and his beautiful wife, Marianne. I also got hugs from Jimmy Harris, Alice’s parents, Frank Fletcher, Robert Rearden (producer on the song) and my sweet friend Belenda Gordon who made me the cutest, sparkliest earrings ever. There were cupcakes with umbrellas, buttons, and stickers, and umbrella drinks galore. And of course, the song. It dropped at midnight- everywhere . Check it out- it is intense. Super proud of this one.

I’ve written for a long time (18 years) and have had about 35 cuts and each one is always a thrill. Hearing something that started with a thought in your head come to life and live indefinitely as a song is absolutely intoxicating. As a songwriter, it is the best feeling.
