Atypical & Awesome “Goodbyes, Beaches, and Laughs”

We had a big weekend ‘round these parts. Saturday morning, I worked (twice as long as I had planned) and then there was football, of course. During the last half, I slipped to the back and finished up grad school work. I had a bad headache so I medicated and went to bed early. Had hoped to get out a show some love to friends performing but unfortunately just wasn’t able to this time.

We had a super early wakeup and departure on Sunday to make it down to PCB. Our quest? To pick Autumn up from a bachelorette weekend with friends and take her to the airport for her return to NYC. She ended up stuck in Dallas for a few hours but she eventually made it back to the city. Oh, how I loved having her here. She’ll be back in a few weeks so this goodbye didn’t sting quite as bad.

While we were in PCB, Phillip and I had brunch, took a few pictures of the beach (the wind was freezing), and walked around Pier Park for a bit. It was a nice way to spend Sunday morning with my love. Everything is getting all Christmassy at the beach- they had Mariah Carey piping over the speakers- it’s a’comin.

Last night was Comedy Night Open-Mic and The Social on Main at Enterprise. Phillip and I both performed. There is starting to be a core group of performers and everyone is getting better each time. Comedy aint easy- but like all art it is a craft. We always come home and immediately think of what we can do to improve next time. I love sharing this with Phillip- it’s a very neat- and funny thing :)
