Atypical & Awesome ,”Turkey, Pirates, Beach, and Bama”

Thanksgiving was wonderful although I sure did miss our Autie B. We’ll get to see her in a few weeks and I truly cannot wait. As a pre-Thanksgiving kickoff, we went to see Wicked (the movie) Tuesday night. It too, was wonderful and the soundtrack has been on loop in my brain.

I had a short but intense week at work but managed to throw together a couple of homemade pecan pies and my prize-winning deviled eggs for my parents’ Thanksgiving get together. It was a sweet day with my siblings and their families.

Phillip treated me to a beautiful getaway to Destin for the weekend. Although it was cold, the Emerald Coast was gorgeous. I was part of a crazy comedy show on a pirate ship Friday night. What a hoot- but boy, it was freezing. One of my sweet friends from high school came and brought her family, including her in-laws. That really touched my heart!

Saturday afternoon was pizza and football in the hotel. We watched Alabama win the Iron Bowl so all is right with the world.

Last night, we decorated our Christmas tree and we are transitioning the house to all things Christmas. It’s freezing today (literally) so I have soup in the crock pot. It’s time for me to get ready for work but I truly appreciate the interest you have in our lives. Life is super short, enjoy the little things (which really are the big things), and love yourself and others unapologetically.
