Atypical & Awesome “The Long Road Home”
Saturday morning, Phillip and Michael took a chance and skedaddled from Brooklyn to Manhattan to attend a huge art expo, MOCCA, so Michael could meet some of his favorite you tuber’s featured on “Drawfee”. Autumn, Reagan, I got our luggage checked in at the train station and waited for the guys as our train was to board at 2 pm. The art expo didn’t open until 11 am and there was a huge line when Phillip and Michael arrived. By the grace of God (I was praying!) Muchael made it to the table, got a drawing, autograph, and picture and with just a little chaos he and Phillip made it to the train station on time.
We said our goodbyes to Autumn and boarded the train. There was more chaos on the train regarding seat assignments but we finally got where we were supposed to be and the train pulled out. 23 hours later we would arrive in Birmingham. As true with most trips, the trip home was easier than the trip there. I spent time blogging and catching up on all the events of the week. Be sure to check out all the recent blogs on Atypical & Awesome.
We arrived to Birmingham shortly before 1 pm, We were hungry so we grabbed McDonalds on the way out of Birmongham. Reagan had a hunger headache which unfortunately turned into a migraine complete with other “fun” travel symptoms. (IYKYK). But prior to the “real bad part”, Phillip and zi slipped over to see Alex’s new apartment in Montgomery and to wish them well as they start their new job on Monday (yesterday, now). Around Troy, Reagan started throwing up so thankfully we were able to grab paper towels and bags from a gas station. once home, I gave her some medicine and she was able to lay down in bed. Fortunately, she was out of school Monday so she had another day to recover.
Sapphire was glad to see us so she got lots of hugs and pets. We had picked up Subway for dinner so early showers and bed for all.
We had a wonderful trip. New York was amazing. We did the train this time but probably won’t again. Trains can be fun but not more than 12 hours. I will NOT sleep on one again unless I have no choice. So back to racking up Southwest miles. Next NYC trip, I’ll be blogging from the air!
