Atypical & Awesome “Back to the Grind & Who’s Crying Now?”

It’s been a great two days getting back into the grind (for the most part). Monday went really well and Alex texted to let me know their first day on the job went well, too. I did lose a tooth (the 2nd in a week) during dinner Monday night. Fortunately, it doesn’t hurt but cosmetically it is embarrassing. I have a dental appointment today to hopefully address all my teeth issues. One more “perk” of chronic illness.

But, despite the tooth thing I had a great evening last night. My sweet friend, Kim Hoobler gifted me a ticket to see Resurrection- a Journey tribute band at the EHS Performing Arts Center. They were phenomenal. I went through a serious Journey phase when I was pregnant with Autumn so i knew every word of most songs lol. Note to others- I move a lot at shows and have a large wingspan lol But thank you, Kim- this mama’s heart needed the distraction this week :)

A quick reminder of some events coming up: April 14-“Here Comes the Rain” Alice Nelson releases everywhere (Nelson, Powell, Bennett); April 22- 3rd Annual PB&J Poetry fest in Atlanta at Bibliotech Books- I perform at 6 pm EST; April 26 Cocktails & Comedy Night at Happy Times in Ozark, AL 7 pm; May 13 Funny Girls All-Female Comedy Show at Benji’s in Daleville!
