Atypical & Awesome “Last Laugh”

Right now is just so much everything. It’s the week before Christmas and I work in mental health so that in itself is blog-worthy. There really are no words. I’m manning the fort by myself this week (at home) so that’s a heap of fun challenges. Plus, it’s finals week so three of our family members (me included) are finishing up major school exams this week. My brain is spinning. And my Autie B is home and we have had to make some decisions regarding travel snd extreme weather headed to Canada. She was supposed to fly to Toronto tomorrow but looks like that won’t be happening. Oh well, better safe than stranded.

So, let’s talk funny. Last night, I did stand-up again as part of the comedy open- mic at the Social. I am determined to hone my comedy chops so every time I get behind the mic I consider it a victory. i REALLY want to delve deeper into comedic writing. I love Tina Fey and Gilda Radner and both are big influences on me. I appreciate all opportunities to be creative.

I also am always searching for the perfect cowriters and artists to work with. I think 2023 will see me venturing into even more unchartered waters creatively. There is a musical inside me and maybe this is the year to make it happen. Maybe it will be a comedic musical and all creative paths will meet in some sort of culmination of loose ends tying up in a pretty, ironic little bow. Who knows- maybe I will in fact, have the last laugh :)
