Atypical & Awesome “That Girl”

Yep, I’m her. Fuzzy socks, maple pecan coffee, sweet cinnamon pumpkin body wash. I am Harvest Queen- three years running! (Not really but you get bonus points if you know the reference- lol). I love, no LOVE fall and today was a perfect Autumn day with leaves swirling and a light chill in the air. I am not insensitive to the plight of our neighbors down south, though and am keeping Florida in my thoughts and prayers today as they deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

Tomorrow night, I will be reciting a few of my poems at Mural City Coffee for their open-mic poetry/spoken word night. I’ll probably throw in some Autumn themed ones for good measure. I’m also thinking hard about hitting up the corn maze this weekend. I would love to go to an apple orchard but the closest ones are over four hours away- so probably not.

Someone at work told me it was time for us to start painting pumpkins and I said- “girl, it is my time to shine”. I love it. There is no accident my eldest is named Autumn-lol!
