Atypical & Awesome “Oh, Say Can You Sing”
I am so grateful for this long weekend, words cannot even express- and I’m a word girl! I’m currently in bed drinking festive coffee and catching up on messages and updating social media. I set out the fixings for “patriotic pancakes” for the kids for whenever they decide to get up.
Last night, Phillip and I went to Level Plains for their fireworks and to support Alice Nelson who was performing. Alice did a great job as usual and did three of our cowrites. She also did an amazing job on the Star Spangled Banner. She’s a star and knows how to hold a crowd. We also met Josh Cobb- wow, what a great voice! Really makes me miss 90’s country.
I have to give props to Level Plains. Phillip and I were touched by the kindness and sense of community shown. The little beauty queens singing patriotic songs, free glow sticks and toys for all the kids, fireworks donated by a local business, and a pick up basketball game between the sheriff’s deputies and the kids…it was so incredibly sweet. We were reminded that there is still “good” in the world- at least for a moment.
