Atypical & Awesome “8 Years and A Good Day”

Yesterday was the 8th anniversary of Phillip and mine’s first date. 03/05//14 we met for dinner at Old Mexico in my hometown. He was extremely kind and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised. Eight years later, he is still kind and attentive. Sometimes there really is a blessing in disguise.
My day yesterday started with a phone consultation about writing and publishing and arrangements were made for a cowrite to work on an R&B song. How cool is that? I love stretching my creative brain and writing out of my comfort zone. Every write teaches me something and I’m grateful.

I had to catch up on laundry as we have been gone a lot lately so as I sorted and put up clothes, I also worked on some promotions and making sure my current singles are getting radio play. Speaking of which, I received notice that both “Small Town Girl”- Jessica Lavallee and “Girlfriend” Alice Nelson received FM radio play this weekend- woohoo!
Speaking of Alice, she had a great gig last night at the Thirsty Pig in Dothan and was a hit with toddlers to adults. Hoping they will book her again real soon!

My heart was happy to see pictures of Autumn and my niece galavanting all over NYC, yesterday. They had crepes and coffee in Brooklyn and went to Times Square and the Met. They are living the life this weekend.

We got great news about Michael. He received his graduation invitations, the proofs to his graduation pictures, told us he had decided to attend prom, and was voted Most Artistic in his senior class. These are all huge things for Michael so we are super proud. Oh, and Enterprise High School’s basketball team won the State Championship yesterday!

We went out to eat as a family last night. I had fish and chips and then took Reagan to buy jeans. She found three pair that fit (we bought 2). Jeans that fit are a huge victory- so, praise glory!

I received sweet texts from Alex who is finishing up their last semester in college. Alex is coming home later this week for their final spring break. Life is moving so, so fast!

We are blessed. Really, so much to be grateful for right now. I sing in church this morning and then have a big three way in-person write this afternoon. Another busy day. Have a beautiful weekend!
