Atypical & Awesome “Nirvana with a Hint of Cranberry “

As “typical” for around here- it has been a week! I had a three day intense training at the day gig. Let’s just say, I’m glad that is over and coffee and Ibuprofen are my friends!

Thursday night, I wrote with my girl Kristan Mikala and we conjured up a catchy ditty. Kristan messaged me and said she played it out at a show Friday night and the crowd liked it so, yay! Plus, I woke up with it on my head this morning so that is always a good sign. Maybe we can get a video up soon :)

Friday night, Phillip and I went to Live at Harlow’s in Ozark to support Midlife Crisis. I say support but honestly, they are one of our favorite guilty pleasures. Sipping cranberry juice and nodding our heads to the angst songs of our late teens/ early twenties is cathartic. So much fun. I mean, is it ok to call grunge, “fun”? Seems a lil contradictory- lol Seriously though, the band is just spot on and you’d be hard-pressed to find more humble and gracious musicians which in my world makes them rock stars.

Coming up, I have a few events. Thursday night, I’m participating in an open-mic spoken word/ poetry reading at Mural City Coffee in Dothan. This is a new monthly event hosted by one of my friends in poetry Patrick Michael Pezelj. I actually wrote a brand new poem this morning I’m excited about sharing.

I have a couple of online interviews in the next few weeks, more cowrites booked, and I will be part of a panel on creativity in November at a local library. All cool things with more cool things always being added. Plus, i have recently had an extremely “awesome” income stream open for me related to marketing and creativity. So, things are going well. Your support is so appreciated!
